Supporting our Partners
When you join the Studio Schools Trust you get a package of support tailored to your individual needs. To support this work we ask partners to make an annual voluntary contribution. This is currently suggested at £8,000, however is likely to reduce to a lower level in the future.
Our support package includes:
Project planning
-
Exploratory meeting
We will meet with you to discuss the Studio Schools model in more detail and outline the best way forward for your individual proposal.
-
Assigned a nominated SST contact
Our development officers are aligned on a regional basis, and will provide regular support over the phone, by email and in person.
-
Application support
We will provide advice and guidance in developing your application, including visits, consultation workshops and regular feedback.
-
Guidance on application process
We will provide guidance documents with key pointers and tips for the application process and how to write a successful application.
-
Government liaison
We will use our strong working relationship with the Department of Education to guide your proposal through government. We also work closely with the Department for Education during the official application process.
Implementing and opening your school
We are currently developing our support offer in this area as more schools open over time, and will take feedback from partners on their specific needs and requirements. For schools opening in 2012 we plan to include the following:
-
Information for key stakeholders
We will provide a range of key resources including information about the Studio School model and the curriculum, presentations for stakeholders, and a guide for employers.
-
Media and marketing
We will provide media and marketing support, including advice on planning a successful marketing campaign, drafting press releases, and key messages for parents, students and employers.
-
Curriculum resources
We will provide you with a variety of curriculum resources including the CREATE skills framework.
-
Mapping to key qualifications
We will provide exemplar Enterprise Projects mapped to Science, English and Maths GCSEs, and support in development and delivery of projects reflecting your local area.
-
Training for your staff
We will provide training workshops for your staff covering personal coaching, CREATE, project delivery and leadership. We will also provide model job descriptions for key posts within the Studio School.
-
Employer engagement
We will provide advice and guidance on approaching and working with employers and developing models for work placements. We have also produced resources for employers including a legal guide to employing young people.
Ongoing support
-
Advocacy
We will continue to provide advice and support once your school is opened, on all aspects of the curriculum, and will continue to advocate on your behalf.
-
Networking and best practice
Throughout the year we run a variety of events including workshops and conferences, so that Studio Schools staff can share best practice, ideas and expertise.
-
Adding value
We will use our national profile and reach to add value to individual Studio Schools. We will continue to build partnerships with key stakeholders, and hold national policy events. We plan to establish a prestigious internship scheme as well as an alumni network for Studio Schools and Studio School students.
